I visited Kensington Gardens in September and noticed there were so many Sweet Chestnuts on branches. They must be falling down to the ground by now and ready to eat.
While looking around in the park at the little details, I noticed something camouflaging so well in big trees.
There were little green things in this green foliage of this tree. Can you see them among the chestnuts?
They are green parrot called Rose-ringed Parakeet. They used to be a domestic pet but escaped and now breed to flourish in many London parks. However, there was one thing I didn’t know. They take food from human hands.
They were actually a little choosy. They seemed to prefer sunflower seeds and ignored other bird seeds. Actually one of the birds complained to me by biting my finger (not too hard though) that no more sunflower seeds were left on my palm. So, if you go to visit Kensington Gardens or any other park in London take some sunflower seeds and enjoy meeting new green friends!
Oh, they are not the ones which make chestnut rice blue, are they? 😀

Hmmmm… no plans at the moment but I have come over to change the old notes and coins…. Bank of England is supposed to deal with them for a while, don’t they????

You better hurry. I’m not sure if the bank still exchange them to new ones or not. I thought I’d change the all and just 2days ago I found 26 old pound coins!!

I’ve just been to the bank to exchange old pound coins to new ones. They said the last day to do that had been last weekend but they would continue exchanging them for an uncertain very short period of time (could be for days or a week or two). This is about ‘Pound coin’ and ‘5 pound note’ had been changed much earlier this year than the pound coin so I doubt if you can still exchange it. Now we started getting new ’10 pound note’ lately. Sorry, this must be a disappointing info to you. How much old cash do you have with you then?

OMG! no round coins but more than 10 for 5 pound note… no plans to travel to the UK at the moment. I’d better ask my colleagues in London or in my office who travel to the UK on business sometimes…. Thank you for the information!!

Hope you can manage exchanging 5 pound notes but I think it would be a very slim chance now. If you have 10 pound notes as well I advise you to ask your colleagues for that too.
