Welcome to Sakura Junction.
This is the website & blog that introduces ‘Japanese Food and Everything Else’.
Some of the dishes are traditionally Japanese with a western twist. Some also comes with recipes for you to make it at home.
Hi I’m Mutsumi,
I am the creator of Sakura Junction.
I am Japanese and have lived in London for several years. I like eating, cooking/baking, watching films, wild life, photography, gardening and creating fun beautiful things.
I am not a professionally trained chef but have loved cooking since I was a child.
On this blog I would like to introduce Japanese Sweets & home cooking with ingredients you can find in London without any difficulty. I am also a big fan of a budget cooking so anything tasty without paying a fortune is within my interest.
Hope you will find my passion for food as interesting as I do.
One of my specialties is making Japanese Sweets and I have sold some of these in occasional local market stalls. Japanese traditional sweets are so different from westerns sweets. Many of them are mainly made of beans, rice flour and sugar so that they are Free from Gluten, Dairy, Fat/Oil and Egg. Carbohydrates burns cleanly in our body unlike butter & cream with high content of Fat/Oil. Beans are thought to be a healthy food option anyway, so that overall Japanese Sweets are much healthier than pastries.
Happy Healthy Eating!!
Bonjour Mitsumi, Discovered your blog your with Photo101 assignment. I love Japan and have just been to London. I will start following you!

Hi Mutsumi! I’m glad you already got the Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award news. I forgot, as you can see, to inform my three nominees/recognizees. I hope you get a few more new readers. As I mentioned in the award post, I think your blog topic is unique. In fact, yours is the first I’ve seen focused on Japanese sweets and I look forward to seeing what else you do here. Congrats!

Thanks Hilary for your kind words. I am really overwhelmed about this nomination since I’ve just started blogging recently. But this occasion encourages me keep working on it.
So, what I have to do is answering to those three Qs and nominate some bloggers? Am I understanding correctly? Many thanks.

Yup! The standard procedure is to thank the person who nominated you, answer their questions, nominate more bloggers with your own questions and pass on the love. You can also display the badge on your blog. Normally people ask closer to 10 questions. I deviated from the routine. 😀

Thanks Trudy. I have just read it. The shop looks really good. It’s amazing that they have a huge variety of food from a delicate looking cake to Kitsune Soba! 😀

Thank you for visiting me! I went to another ramen place yesterday for the first time called Ramen Setgaya, I know they have locations in Japan, they aren’t too expensive either. I’m told that it is very authentic.

Hi Mutsumi, I’m happy to have stumbled upon this blog. Though I’m an Indian, Japan and its culture be it art, food or drinks, has always fascinated me. I hope we can be in touch as I plan to write more on Japanese cuisine and everything else. Looking forward to hearing from you.

I have written a lot about Japan and its culture. I will be writing a lot about them in future too. It would be great to have a native’s opinion on these posts sometimes I’m not sure if I’m in the right. 🙂
Before that I love Japan for its rich culture in the ultra modern age. I’m hoping to visit the country soon.
