Hi I’m Mutsumi,
I am the creator of Sakura Junction.
I am Japanese and have lived in London for several years. I like eating, cooking/baking, watching films, wild life, photography, gardening and creating fun beautiful things.
I am not a professionally trained chef but have loved cooking since I was a child.
On this blog I would like to introduce Japanese Sweets & home cooking with ingredients you can find in London without any difficulty. I am also a big fan of a budget cooking so anything tasty without paying a fortune is within my interest.
Hope you will find my passion for food as interesting as I do.
One of my specialties is making Japanese Sweets and I have sold some of these in occasional local market stalls. Japanese traditional sweets are so different from westerns sweets. Many of them are mainly made of beans, rice flour and sugar so that they are Free from Gluten, Dairy, Fat/Oil and Egg. Carbohydrates burns cleanly in our body unlike butter & cream with high content of Fat/Oil. Beans are thought to be a healthy food option anyway, so that overall Japanese Sweets are much healthier than pastries.
