This year we are having very mild winter in England. We hardly need to heat rooms during daytime and wear gloves outside. So it is very unlikely that we are going to have a White Christmas. Although it is not cold, in my mind “Winter = Snow” so another sweet I made in the Winter theme was this one.
It is made of ‘Mochi‘ Rice Cake type of sweet.
This sweet has sticky texture but it is not too stretchy as Mochi. I can make the material into some shapes when it is still warm.
In the centre something white is the most suitable in case the deep colour might come through the white outer layer. I selected ‘Apple-An’ which Apple Jam was mixed into White ‘Shiro-An‘ paste.
These two Mochi Snowmen look so freezing cold!

This Mochi Snowman was served at Wasoukan Cafe (Notting Hill, London) this month and I was told it was very popular. 😀
